Eating Out

It can be a challenge eating out at a restaurant anytime you have special dietary needs. It's getting easier and easier to find vegan options at almost all restaurants. You can always ask at any restaurant what vegan options they have or what you can do to make an item vegan. Here are some suggestions to make it a little easier the next time you go out to eat. 

 

Taco Bell:

  • Crunchwrap Supreme: add black beans, remove beef, sour cream, nacho cheese

  • Been Burrito: Fresco Style, remove cheese

  • Power Menu Burrito: remove cheese, sour cream, avocado ranch sauce

  • Tacos: Fresco style, add black beans, remove beef

  • Spicy Tostada: remove cheese, chipotle sauce​

Wendy's: 

  •  Baked Potato w/ chives: no butter, sour cream

  •  Asian Cashew Chicken Salad: remove chicken

  •  Garden Salad: no croutons, choose  pomegranate or light spicy asian vinaigrette or light balsamic dressing

  •  Black Bean Burger: no cheese or sauce (at select locations in Ohio, Utah, and South Carolina)

  •  Fries

  •  Apple Slices​

McDonalds: 

  •   Side Salad: Add-Ins Chili Lime Tortilla Strips Diced Apples Grape Tomatoes Leaf Lettuce Lime Wedge

  •   Salad Dressings: Cilantro Lime Glaze,  Newman’s Own Low Fat Balsamic Vinaigrette

  •   Breakfast Options: Bagel, Oatmeal (no Cream), Oatmeal without Brown Sugar (no Cream)

   

White Castle:

  •  Veggie Burger: w/ Thai sauce or ketchup, mustard

                                 *Burgers are cooked on a separate grill

 

 

PF Changs: Vegetarian Lettuce Wraps, Buddha's Feast, Ma Po Tofu, Chili-Garlic Green Beans, Coconut Curry Vegetables, Shanghai Cucumbers, Stir Fries Eggplant, & Shanghai Waldorf Salad

Yard House: Any Gardein Chicken Option w/ no cheese, Chipotle mayo, or Crema Sauce, Guacamole & Chips, Hummus, Hot & Spicy or Chilled Edamame, Sweet Potato or Truffle Fries (remove bacon cream dip & Parmesan topping,  Vegan Burger, Angel         Hair Pasta, Mango Sorbet

Red Robin: 

  • Guacamole, Salsa & Chips: Ask for all corn tortilla chips, and leave out the jalapeño-cheese flour tortilla chips.

  • Heck-Yeah Hummus: Replace the garlic bread with a baguette or more veggies (no zucchini spears, as they have cheese on them)

  • Bottomless Fries

  • Steamed Broccoli

  • Apples

  • Carrots

  • Freckled Fruit Salad

  • Southwest Black Beans (no cheese)

  • Sweet Potato Fries

  • Apple Harvest Chicken: no blue cheese, add vinaigrette dressing

  • Whisky River BBQ Chicken: Switch out the chicken for a cut-up Boca patty. Ask for no cheese, and exchange the dressing for vinaigrette.

  • Italian Dressing

  • Lemony Oil Dressing

  • A Boca patty on a whole-wheat bun. 

  • The Garden Burger: Ask for the Boca patty on a whole-wheat bun (no Country Dijon Sauce, add plain mustard) 

  • Banzai: Ask for the Boca patty on a whole-wheat bun (no cheese or mayo)

  • Guacamole Bacon: Ask for the Boca patty on a whole-wheat bun (no bacon, cheese, mayo)

Olive Garden:

  • All pastas w/ choice of Marinara or Tomato sauce

  • Breasdsticks

  • Minestrone Soup

  • Steamed Broccoli
